Kids Club ended Friday. Eight hundred individuals and their stories finished two
weeks of living what we all hoped would be a Jesus Encounter.
Kids Club is a kingdom
community experience. We work harder than normal
for purposes that are larger than the individual worlds we come from. We see
with eyes that are trained to look for the one assigned to each of us. Class,
race, language and culture weave us into a beautiful family. We challenge each
other to uncommon leadership, which in many cases is brand new. Like every Kids
Club we watch as the prodigal(s) find their way home. We live expectantly,
believing for the miraculous and trusting in the supernatural handiwork of God.
And we welcome the children … this year over 600.
I love listening to the children worship in the mornings … “It’s ama-a-zing how
you love me” … I carry with me love notes to God and to me; children give gifts
lavishly. Thousands of hugs were exchanged, willing shoulders, backs and arms,
carried the sick, tired, and shoeless. Daily there were knocks on every kind of
door with drivers patiently waiting. We brought the Gospel message in human form
… you are wanted, you are loved! And these wanted ones opened their wounds and
let us in. Children told God and us what is hurting them.
They also laughed at anything a little funny. shouted for winners and gave
something a chance they had never done before. When we told them that God’s word
is true, they listened to each day’s lessons with hope the message was for them.
Creative treasures went home as testimonials.
And all of this rubbed off on crusted over hearts that have forgotten that the kingdom of God belongs to such as
these. Workers young and old were carried by this grace, the children helping us
find our own Jesus Encounters. I hope you have a few minutes to watch the slide
show, for you were with us through your love, prayers and compassionate gifts.

In a week, we leave for camp in Payson, the final piece to the summer.
God bless you,
